About Ava

      Ava Cortes is an actor, singer, and dancer originally from northern New Jersey, though she's spent the past four years in the sun pursuing her BFA in musical theatre at the University of Miami. Post graduation, she's excited to make the move back to the New York to pursue her career as a performer. 

    At UM, she's had the incredible opportunity to perform in and develop six new or updated musicals, most recently Rachel Sheinkin's & Joel Derfner's Blood Drive and Richard Maltby Jr's & David Shire's Take Flight. Ava is just as passionate about new works as she is about bringing her own flare to established shows; some favorite credits include Kate McGowan in Titanic, and Nina/Vanessa/Ensemble in In The Heights. 

    Ava is a lover of 70s music, Miami Restaurants, and, most importantly, 2000s teenage soap operas (ask her about Dan and Blair).
